Research has shown that diets rich in natural compounds called flavonols reduce the risk of dementia regardless of age.

These compounds are found in various fruits including berries, green leafy vegetables, and tea.

Research has shown that people who eat a certain amount of green leafy vegetables every day reduce their risk of dementia by 32%.

According to research, consuming 15 mg of these compounds daily slows down the process of memory loss.

Researchers reported that these natural compounds have antioxidant properties as well as anti-inflammatory properties.

He further added that foods rich in flavonols prevent the release of toxins and damage to cells in the body.

Along with the brain, these compounds are also useful for other parts of the body, including the heart, kidney, and liver, he added.

According to the researchers, the best foods to reduce the risk of dementia are lentils, spinach, broccoli, tomatoes, apples, tea, malt, pears, olive oil, and berries.

However, he emphasized that it is not possible to keep mental disorders away from diet alone, but it is necessary to make physical and mental activities a part of the lifestyle.

The results of the study were published in the journal Neurology.
